Ethics of Wealth and Charity: A Jewish Perspective

view options

This course explores the roots of giving and service in Jewish life, from biblical and Talmudic teachings to today’s Federations and foundations. We’ll examine Jewish perspectives on wealth, the responsibility to support society’s most vulnerable, the types of giving and recipients considered most meaningful, and the consequences traditionally associated with failing to meet one’s charitable obligations.
