The MJCCA Welcomes James Beard Award-winning Chefs Nathalie Dupree and Cynthia Graubart on March 20 for Two Special Programs:

3:00 pm - Master Cooking Class, Led by Chefs Dupree and Graubart, Cooking a Recipe from their Book

7:30 pm - An Author Talk and Signing with Chefs Dupree and Graubart

On Sunday, March 20, 2016, a Page from the Book Festival of the MJCCA (Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta), welcomes James Beard Award-winning Chefs Nathalie Dupree and Cynthia Graubart for two special programs, featuring their newest book, Mastering the Art of Southern Vegetables: a Master Cooking Class, and an Author Talk & Signing. Both programs will be held at the MJCCA (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody). For information, visit atlantajcc.829stage.com or call 678.812.4002.

  • The first program on March 20, from 3:00 pm, is a Master Cooking Class, led by Chefs Dupree and Graubart, cooking a recipe from their book. This class will take place in the MJCCA’s new state-of-the-art culinary studio located in the Kuniansky Family Center. There is limited availability. 
    Ticket prices are: MJCCA Members - $65 / Community - $80 (this price includes the class, a copy of the book, and admission to the author talk that evening). 
  • The second program that day, from 7:30 pm, the community is invited to an Author Talk and Signing with Chefs Dupree and Graubart. There they will discuss how they have excerpted their best vegetable recipes (plus added some new ones) in this new, timely collection.
    Ticket prices are: MJCCA Members - $10 / Community - $15

 

About the Book

Organized alphabetically by vegetable, each section begins with instructions on how to prepare and cook the vegetable, and is followed by favorite new and classic recipes. Also included are a selection of vinaigrettes and sauces, plus a roasting chart for an array of vegetables.

 

About the Authors

Nathalie Dupree is the author of thirteen cookbooks, including Shrimp and Grits and Southern Biscuits. She has hosted more than 300 television shows and specials that have shown nationally on PBS, Food Network, and The Learning Channel. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina.

Cynthia Graubart is the author of Slow Cooking for Two, Slow Cooking: Double Dinners for Two, and The One-Armed Cook. In addition, she has a regular column in Southern Living. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dupree and Graubart are coauthors of the James Beard Award-winning Mastering the Art of Southern Cooking and coauthors of Southern Biscuits.
