Program: Mixed Doubles Round Robin Tournament

Details: Join us on November 4 for a fun day of tennis at our Mixed Doubles Round Robin Tournament! Register individually at your skill level; each round, you'll be paired with a partner of the opposite gender for fun competition. A catered kosher lunch is included.

Program: School’s Out Camp
When: November 6, 19-21, December 21, 26-28, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Who: Children Pre-K through 8th grade
Cost: $50; Open to the community
Details: When your child’s school is out, MJCCA Day Camps is IN! We offer a variety of exciting, engaging, sage activities for your kids during school holidays and teacher work days. Activities include, sports, arts and crafts, science and more. Open to non-members and members. Walking in not registered the day of camp is dependent on space and will incur a $10 fee.

Name: Kristallnacht Ceremony
When: Thursday, November 8, 6:30 - 7:15 pm
Where: The MJCCA’s Besser Holocaust Memorial Garden (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody)
Who: All ages
Cost: Free and open to the community
Details: All are invited to a Kristallnacht commemoration ceremony at the JCC, which will feature Mohammed Al Samawi, author of The Fox Hunt. Born in Yemen, Mohammed Al Samawi was a devout Muslim raised to think of Christians and Jews as his enemies. At 23, he secretly received a copy of the Bible, which cast doubt on everything he’d previously believed. The brief ceremony will also include a performance by The Weber School Chorus and the lighting of the six torches.

Details: Level up your Friendsgiving with a show-stopping side dish! In this class you will learn some new and tasty side dishes that will be perfect for any Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, or Tuesday night dinner. Details: The JCC and The Weinstein School will honor our United States Veterans at a special Shabbat celebration at the MJCCA. Details: Best Books for Babes is for 18 months to 3 years old with a caregiver. Taking some of the classic toddler books and more current bestsellers, each class will focus on an author or story. The class will start with free play in the Sophie Hirsh Srochi Discovery Center and then circle time, a story and a project will follow. Advance registration required.

Details: Join Beth Cunningham, licensed pediatric and infant massage therapist, on learning about infant massage and its benefits. Massage can help foster mutual trust and understanding between caregiver and child. Research has found that massage may promote better sleeping, relieve colic, improve immune function, and many other benefits. This is a three-week, one-hour-a-week course.

Program: DIY Studio: Metal Stamped Jewelry

Details: Everybody loves to express themselves with words. Here, we will teach you how to stamp out your favorite messages on wearable jewelry. In this class, you will learn the ABC’s of jewelry metal stamping, including learning about metal gauges, practicing stamping on different metals, proper filling techniques, texturizing your jewelry blanks to create a hammered effect, and more. By the end of the class, you will walk away with two beautiful new pieces to call your own. Supplies are provided.

Program: Winter Daddy Daughter Dance

Details: Fathers, come have fun and dance the night away with your little girl. The Daddy Daughter Dance is for Pre-K through 6th grade girls and their “date” (dad, stepdad, grandpa, uncle, older brother, etc). Dress up in semi-formal attire and join us for prizes, dinner, and dancing. You’ll take home a keepsake from your special night together. In addition, we will be collecting winter coats at the dance to donate to those in need. Please bring in any you have in all sizes.

Details: Fatherhood: If you are scared, get prepared! Feel confident and ready to manage your infant’s needs with ease. You will shine as a hero from the start when you know the most amazing, safest diaper changing techniques, Hero Feeding & Soothing System, how to handle infant choking, and a CPR review. Level 1 is a three-hour, hands-on class taught by Dr. Yale Nogin, father of four and author of The Hero Dad’s Infant Manual, who also has 15 years of experience guiding more than 1,000 men through the beginning of fatherhood.
