Program: What the Health?!: Vascular Disease Prevention & Treatment

Details: Come and learn about peripheral and arterial diseases and how to catch the warning signs early on. There will also be leg circulation screenings to take advantage of.

Program: Senior Day presents: Lunchtime Culture at Alliance Theatre
When: Thursday, August 9, 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Where: Alliance Theatre (1280 W Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta)
Who: Active Mature Adults ages 60+
Cost: $5
Details: Meet us at the Alliance Theatre as Breman Jewish Museum hosts their Lunchtime Culture program. Enjoy a half hour presentation entitled Theatre as a Social Change Agent, a backstage tour of the theater, and learn how he Alliance Theatre is working to create a new state-of-the-art theater. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Transportation will be available from the MJCCA, Toco Hills NORC, and Zaban Tower. Details: Come hear from the experts on a multitude of topics! Every week, speakers from a variety of fields give fascinating presentations on topics ranging from history and international affairs, to wellness and current events.

Program: Dive Into Shabbat – Pool Party at the MJCCA
When: Friday, August 10, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Where: MJCCA (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody)
Who: Families
Cost: Free and open to the community (Snacks available for purchase)
Details: Celebrate Shabbat with family and friends at the MJCCA Outdoor Pool and Splash Pad. Bring your own picnic or potluck to share with friends. Open swim begins at 5:00 pm followed by Shabbat songs and blessings with Rabbi Glusman at 6:00 pm. Drinks and snacks available for purchase. Free ice pops, challah and grape juice! Bring your friends and enjoy this unique Shabbat celebration. This event is free and open to the entire community! Program: Swim, Sip & Schmooze!

Who: Singles, ages 40+
Cost: $10 / person (cash, payable at the door)
Details: Join us at the JCC for some adult swim! Jewish singles (40s and up) are invited for a Shabbat celebration at the pool. Participants will mix and mingle over some pizza and adult beverages. Program: Connect Kickoff Pool Party

Details: Teens will enjoy fun in the sun, pool games, and snacks to celebrate the end of the summer and the start of the school year. Remember to bring a towel!

Program: Daily Shofar at the JCC
When: Monday - Friday, August 13 - September 7, 11:00 am
Where: MJCCA (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody)
Who: All ages
Cost: Free and open to the community
Details: The blowing of the shofar, rams horn, is an important part of the Jewish High Holiday season. There is a special tradition of blowing the shofar in the days leading up to Rosh Hashanah to remind us to “wake up,” reflect on the past year, and begin the spiritual preparation for the High Holiday season. All are invited to listen as the Shofar is sounded at the MJCCA. 11:00 am in the lobby, 11:10 am in the fitness center.

Program: Shalom Baby Toddler Tuesday: MathArts
When: Tuesdays, August 14 - September 4, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Where: MJCCA (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody)
Who: Parents with children ages 18 months - 3 years old
Cost: Free and open to the community
Details: MathArts is a fun, educational experience for 18 months to 3-year-olds with a caregiver. It uses creative art projects to introduce preschoolers to early math concepts such as counting, grouping, sorting, and patterns. Advance registration required.

Details: LifeSouth is a community blood center, meaning the blood supply collected from our donors directly serves the needs of patients in our community. The blood donated here will stay here for local patient transfusions. Join us by the outdoor pool, at their Blood Mobile Truck!
