"Celebrating Israel at 65!" The Mini-Series
Four Classes at Emory Hillel; Open to the Community
During the month of April 2013, the community is invited to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the State of Israel by attending a mini-series of unique courses. The 4-part series, “Celebrating Israel at 65!” will be offered on April 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2013 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Marcus Hillel Center at Emory University (735 Gatewood Road, Atlanta, 30322). April 4: “Israel@65: Finished and Unfinished Business” -- Professor Kenneth Stein, Director, Institute for the Study of Modern Israel, Center for Israel Education
April 11: “What Does the New Knesset Mean for World Jewry?” -- Rabbi Russ Shulkes Executive Director, Hillels of Georgia
April 18: “The Changing Relationship between the American Jewish Community and Israel” -- Richard Walter, Associate Director Institute for the Study of Modern Israel, Center for Israel Education
April 25: “The Jewish Landscape: Challenges and Opportunities within Israeli Society” -- Dr. Shelley Buxbaum, Director of the Lisa F Brill Institute for Jewish Learning at the MJCCA
This unique educational opportunity is presented by the MJCCA's Lisa F. Brill Institute for Jewish Learning at the MJCCA; The Emory Institute for the Study of Modern Israel (ISMI) and The Center for Israel Education; Emory Hillel; the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA); and the Consulate General of Israel in Atlanta.
Tuition Cost
Tuition is $36 for the entire series of 4 lectures, or $10 per session. Light refreshments will be served.
